My first view of London, June 6, 2015
I stayed with Lee, in Holloway, which is one tube stop out of Central London. I met Lee in 1987 in Amsterdam and he has let me invade his home throughout the years.
Painter at the local church.
Am apartment building on Caledonian Road.
Marc, whom I also met in 1987 had a welcoming dinner for me, but as you can see, he is a shy guy who avoids the glare of the camera.
Marc has a great garden in his yard.
The local shop.
Bruch with Paul. He lives in a fancy joint in London.
Checking to see if we got any likes for a photo put up on Facebook a few minutes earlier. (we did, they loved us)
View from Paul's building.
Taken from Kensington Palace, in Hyde Park.
We found that this room offered flattering lighting for selfies!
Around 15 years ago I rented a flat on Duke of York Street. It's a very small street, and by coincidence, my friend Hector in New York, worked at the pub a few doors down, the Red Lion
The Red Lion is under the scaffolding. The street toward the back of the photo is Jermyn.
at The Yard, in Soho.
More London gays.
Thai place Paul and I ate, on Greek Street... or was it Dean Street?
These guys were great! They adopted me and took me out with their friends to G.A.Y. to dance.
It is my contention that this fellow looks like WWI British Poet, Rupert Brooke, so we did a comparison.. I just finished reading a bio of Brooke (who died when he was 27 years old).
A play about the Queen and her Prime Ministers over the years. Private conversations.
